Why are jury verdicts so important and why do some cases go to trial?

Why Your Attorney Must Be Willing to Take Your Case to Trial

Video Transcript

One of the most basic rights afforded to us as United States citizens is the right to a jury trial. That right is uniquely American and allows citizens to access the courts when they have been wronged or damaged in some way. That right is crucial because it serves as a check on society to make sure everybody is playing by the rules, and that negligent or even bad actors can be held accountable for their wrongdoing. Far too often, attorneys take that right for granted. It’s important that insurance companies and large corporations know the attorney they’re dealing with is not only willing to go to trial, but prefers trial. Oftentimes, that threat of taking a case all the way to trial is enough to get the job done for our clients. But sometimes an insurance company is unwilling to put a fair and just settlement offer on the table. When that happens, you need an attorney that will not only fight for you in trial, but an attorney who also has the experience and skills needed to go get that verdict.
