What to Do (and What NOT to Do) Right After a Car Accident

After a car accident, it’s always a good idea to start a claim as soon as possible. If you’re able to report the collision to your insurance company and let them know that you’ve been involved in a collision, that’s a good idea. What you don’t want to do is give a recorded statement or accept a settlement offer from an insurance company before you’ve had a chance to speak with an attorney. Only an attorney is going to be able to advise you on whether your rights are really being protected. And so you want to speak with someone before you accept anything or finalize anything with the insurance company.
