Investing in People — Goings Law Firm and Columbia Hands of Hope
Video Transcript
Robert: I’m here today with Bishop Arnold and Pastor Judy with Columbia Hands of Hope Nurse Aide ministry program. Our law firm has partnered with Columbia Hands of Hope for a number of years now, and it is our honor to work with you to provide an outreach to the community. Pastor Judy, I understand that you are the brainchild behind the Columbia Hands of Hope program.
Pastor Judy: Columbia Hands of Hope is a nursing assistant program. It’s six weeks. Our program is geared toward people who are working. CNAs are very important. They are right next to the nurse, and the nurse is right next to the doctors. They work in hospitals. They work in nursing homes, even have their own businesses. CNAs are everywhere.
Bishop Arnold: I would like to see as many people come through Columbia Hands of Hope to become compassionate caregivers, to see these young people come through and get the equipment and the help, the scholarship, the need. And then when the light bulb go off for graduation, we need everyone working together. Goings Law Firm have been a big, important part of our ministry. There’s a lot of things that we could not have done without Goings Law Firm.
Pastor Judy: We have graduated two hundred and sixty-three people since 2015 and they have gone on to be doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners. Our students are everywhere in the community.
