Potentially flammable glass lanterns recalled

Pier 1 Imports recalled various models of glass lanterns sold in the U.S. after being notified of the potential fire hazard that the lanterns pose.

According to reports, several glass lantern models sold at Pier 1 Imports from August 2013 until February 2014 were affected by the recall. The glass lanterns could accidentally fall and cause fires.

Though no one was reportedly injured before issuing the recall, several incidents of melted lanterns were reported. Additionally one fire occurred. Consumers who own the recalled lanterns are advised to visit Pier 1 Imports’ website or call their hotline for further information.
